Report on the Visit to Ethiopia
We thank you for supporting the activities of the Japan-Korea-Ethiopia Friendship Association (JKEF).
A delegation of our association recently visited Ethiopia and had a valuable opportunity to deepen exchanges with local people concerned. During the visit, we exchanged opinions on the construction of the orphanage and discussed concrete plans for future cooperation.
Major Activities
１．Visit and donation to Ethiopian Veterans Association 2025/01/15
In addition to expressing our gratitude, we visited the Ethiopian Veterans Association and offered flowers and a donation of $10,000 for the memorial. We hope that this donation will help improve the welfare of those who contributed to the war effort at that time.
During this visit, we also officially appointed Ms. Fiesha Simur as our local representative. We will continue to promote more effective support activities while deepening cooperation with the local community.
２．Visit to Addis Ababa Mayor's Advisory Office and discussion on construction of orphanage 2025/01/21
To solve the problem of orphans in Ethiopia, we visited the Addis Ababa Mayor's Advisory Office and held discussions on the construction plan of an orphanage.
Through discussions with the city officials, a positive exchange of views was made about the specific direction of cooperation in the future.
We will continue our efforts to realize the project through continuous dialogue.
３．Participation in “Investment and Trade Seminar” 2025/01/22-24
To learn about the current state of the industries that support Ethiopia's economic development, we participated in the “Investment and Trade Seminar” and heard about the local business environment and growth areas. By visiting industrial zones and observing industrial sites firsthand, the participants were capable of deepening their understanding of Ethiopia's potential for economic development.
We will continue to contribute to the further development of friendly relations between Japan, Korea, and Ethiopia by making use of the knowledge gained through this visit in our future activities.
